Fulvio was the most amazing host I have ever had in all my travels. It was like having a friend and family in Tuscany and he helped make it the best part of our trip. Good food, good conversation and good suggestions of things to see and do (with really good detailed directions so that we didn't get lost).

We had a large appartment / studio. The location is lovely and rural about 5/10 minutes drive out of San Gimignano. The facity is surrounded with olivegroves, vineyards and countryside. It was hot when we visited, so we enloyed the swimming pool. The highlight for us though was the meal that Falvio the owner cooked for us. He is a Pavarotti type Italian that obvioulsy is a great cook and also teaches Italian cooking. We had a four course meal with three other couples also staying that was lovely. The anti pasto was a meal of its own.Falvio was a great host and charged us only Euro 25 each for the dinner which included lots of great wine which was very reasonable. We unreservidly recommend Il Vicario.
The location was a little hard to find. We had a gps which made a big difference without this we would have struggled. However this was only a minor issue.

I had my second stay at Il Vicario within one year and both visits were very good. The place is hard to find, but once you do, the location is great. Walking around you have wonderful views towards San Gimignano and the surrounding countryside. Fulvio and Katia are great hosts and it is wonderful to have a local Tuscan dinner with other visitors from around the world. Rooms are basic with no luxury, but functional and clean. I will visit again next time I am in Tuscany.

The feeling of being made welcome from the first moment of arrival, Fulvio the owner and Katia his niece were super nice people.
Our en-suite was very small and basic.

hospitality on the highest level. Il Vicario gave us the real sense of Tuscany. Friendly, small villa on the top of a hill, in the middle of a beautiful and peaceful landscape. The owners welcome you as if you were part of the family. The dinner is absolutely worth trying.

Very nice room, very nice location, owners extremely friendly. We were very sorry we could not book an extra night. And we arrived too late for dinner, but it looked like we missed something.

Very personal and able to speak English. Greeted with a coffee immediately and information on the area immediately. The food was fabulous, breakfast was served to us with personal touch. Optional evening meal was superb (lots of local wine ) and as well gave opportunity to meet other international guests. Main host had a great sense of humor and went the extra mile for us by driving us to the train station. Quiet sleep, and plenty of walking paths to take and a pool with louge chairs if the weather was good.

Amazing atomsphere created by owners Fulvio and Katia especially in the evenings during delicious dinners!!! I or rather my wife would recommend cooking classes. Very good location in beatiful Tuscan countryside near to San Gimignano (5 mintuse by car or 45 minutes walking). Excellent place to relax on site or as a starting point for sightseeing of hilltop towns or Florence and Siena (Fulvio is more than willing to provide you with driving directions to perfect parking lots there). But beware: do not eat to much during the day wait till dinner at Il Vicario!!!

Fulvio and Katia were very welcoming. The rooms and general atmosphere was very comfortable and we didn't want to leave at the end of our stay. We found that most of the other guests were very friendly and helpful with suggestions for San Gimignano and nearby towns. We would definitely like to return someday.

The relaxing true Tuscany feeling you get staying at this accommodation as well as the lovely, cheerful hosts who we could easily spend days together with made this the perfect holiday stop. I must also mention that the home-cooked meal cooked for us was amazing and good value for money (with wine). We only wished we could have stayed for longer!!
It was difficult to find as the tomtom and google maps roads to the destination no longer exist; there are major road works occuring at near by towns. The best advice is try and navigate to San Gimignano first (using a combination of tomtom and road signs), then follow the tomtom to the destination.
